What is ORIGINAL MAGIC?
ORIGINAL MAGIC got its start years ago at a vodka plant in Hungary. An engineer at the plant noticed a pond next to the plant never froze, even on the coldest winter days, and he wondered why.
The engineer discovered the plant was dumping the sugar liquid swill left over from the vodka distilling process into the pond. On the other side of the pond, magnesium chloride was leaching in from a farm. The combination of alcohol distillery mash and magnesium chloride, an ice melter, produced a mix that lowered the pond’s freezing point to below -45 degrees.
ORIGINAL MAGIC starts out as ordinary rock salt mixed with liquified ORIGINAL MAGIC. It’s safe for kids, pets and plantings. But it’s still powerful. ORIGINAL MAGIC works in the coldest weather conditions melting ice at -35 degrees Fahrenheit.

Did you know the state of North Carolina averages about 4” of snow per year. Right here in the Raleigh area we consistently get 4” of snow. And, when you look back at snowfall history you’ll see we we can get anywhere from six to seventeen inches depending on the year.
There is quite a range of snowfall across the state. Grandfather Mountain in the Blue Ridge Mountains averages 53 inches per year. Asheville averages about 13 inches per year.
Coastal towns get less snow. Wilmington and Cape Hatteras average about 1.7 inches of snow per year.
